1. Form (preferably detachable) with a diameter of 24-26 cm, grease with a piece of butter and cover with baking paper. Start cooking with the filling so that it has time to cool while you knead the dough.

2 .Pour milk into a small saucepan, add pudding powder and stir until completely dissolved. Place the saucepan over the heat, bring the milk pudding mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook over low heat for 2 more minutes.

3. Remove the pan from the heat, add finely ground poppy seeds and chopped walnuts. By the way, instead of walnuts, you can take chopped almonds. Leave the filling to cool before applying to the dough.

4. For the dough, mix the melted warm butter with sugar and eggs. Add baking powder. Gradually adding the sifted flour, knead the dough.

5. Grease the mold with a piece of butter. Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly across the bottom. Spread the cooled poppy-nut filling on the dough. Put the mold in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 30 minutes.

I haven't baked for a long time. I wanted something delicious. An idea was born in my head to bake yeast walnut pie and poppy. I love how walnuts pair with poppy seeds in any baked goods.

To prepare a pie with walnuts and poppy seeds, we need:

for the nut filling

  • 150 grams of walnuts (kernels),
  • 50 grams of poppy,
  • 50 grams of sugar or to taste
  • 70 grams of butter,
  • for yeast dough

  • 160 ml milk (in a dough),
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast (in dough),
  • 1.5 teaspoons (in dough) +70 grams of sugar,
  • 10 grams vanilla sugar or to taste
  • 100 grams (in a dough) + 360 grams of flour,
  • 10 grams of potato starch,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 80-85 grams of butter (you can replace part of the butter with margarine),
  • a pinch of salt.

    The secret of successful yeast baking lies, of course, in a successful yeast dough recipe. Detailed step by step recipe you can see the preparation of yeast dough.

    I will briefly describe the main points. I knead the dough in a bread maker. It is very comfortable. I put the ingredients for the dough in a bucket (milk, yeast, a little sugar, a little flour). I turn on the "Dough" mode, wait until everything is mixed and turn off the bread machine. I leave the dough to rise here for an hour and a half.

    Then I add eggs, sugar, the remaining flour, starch to the dough (I started adding starch to yeast baking recently, it gives it a particularly lush structure), vanilla sugar, butter and salt. I turn on the "Dough" mode again. After the bread machine signals the end of the mode, I leave the dough to rise right in it.

    While the dough is rising, wash the nuts and dry them.

    Poppy grind in a blender. Add walnuts to the poppy seeds and chop them in a blender, but not very finely.



    If there is no blender, then poppy seeds can be added in the form in which it is sold. And put the nuts in a tight bag and grind them with a rolling pin.

    We roll out the finished dough on a table sprinkled with flour into a layer, 5-7 mm thick.

    Spread poppy seeds with nuts on the dough and evenly distribute. Sprinkle sugar on top of the nuts and then lay out thin slices of butter.

    Gently roll the dough into a roll, pinching all the edges well.

    Lubricate the baking dish with vegetable oil. We put a roll in it. With a knife or scissors, carefully make cuts on the roll. We leave it in a warm place for 20-30 minutes (do not forget to cover with a clean towel, otherwise the dough will wind up).


    Lubricate the approached pie with an egg on top (I also sprinkled coconut flakes, but this is not at all necessary) and send it to the oven preheated to 160 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

    We take out the finished cake with walnuts from the oven, let it cool.
